Nine and three is a term used to describe lower class people who live in communities where rents are very low and because of their poor living conditions,good behaviour
is at a minimum.The term originated in Northdale, Pietermaritzburg,South Africa where residents paid a rental of nine shillings and three pence per week.Nine and three is now used to describe any such person and any such place.An example would be:"You are acting like a Nine and Three","He/She comes from Nine and Three".
